I was practising the postlude for tomorrow's service. I chose it because its a song i especially like, because the lyrics speak of what i feel in my heart, and is a very good reminder to me. So i thought i'll post it up here for everyone to see, hopefully when the postlude is played tomorrow during the service, you guys will think of the lyrics, and i hope it will all be our prayer as we walk together with God.
My Tribute (To God be the Glory)
How can I say thanks for the things You have done for me,
Things so undeserved, Yet You give to prove Your love for me,
The voices of a million angels, Could not express my gratitude,
All that I am, and ever hope to be, I owe it all to Thee.
To God be the glory,
To God be the glory,
To God be the glory, For the things He has done,
With His blood He has saved me,
With His power He has raised me,
To God be the glory, For the things he has done.
Just let me live my life, Let it be pleasing Lord to Thee,
And should I gain any praise, Let it go to Calvary.
To God be the glory,
To God be the glory,
To God be the glory, For the things He has done,
With His blood He has saved me,
With His power He has raised me,
To God be the glory, For the things He has done.
The words in italic really spoke to me. The song is sort of like a personal prayer, when im playing it.
"All that i have and ever hope to be, i owe it all to Thee... ... Just let me live my life, Let it be pleasing, Lord, to Thee, and should i gain any praise, let it go to Calvary."
This is a very powerful reminder to me that everything i have came from God. That truly, all that i ever have and hope to be, i owe it all to Him. We don't deserve any praise for the things we have done, because God deserves all the glory.
So many times i have done something really difficult, that i thought was not possible for me to do, and after doing it i felt happy that i managed to pull it off. When we think that we have achieved things by our own strength, it is because it was God who gave us the strength to achieve, and not by our own means. And if we should gain any praise, any achievements, we should all give it to God, to Jesus, without whom we would be nothing at all.
And the phrase.. "i owe it all to Thee" really reminds me to thank God for what i have, because everything i have came from his. Like this week i was really reminded of how blessed i really am when i see my grandmother's new domestic helper who had to leave her children behind in her homeland and come to Singapore to work so that she might have enough money to send her children to school. Another of my aunts have a domestic helper who left Philippines right after her youngest child was born to come to Singapore to work, and she has already been here twenty years. She didnt have the chance or choice to watch her own child grow up, but in those years her child was growing up, she was looking after someone else's child so that her family may have a better life.
Often so many things we have around us, we take for granted. Perhaps its time for us to see and count God's blessings in the little little things we have around us and start to give Him the thanks that only He deserves. Let us start by thinking something to thank Him for at the end of every day, before we turn in for the day.
PS: Heres the song that i mentioned, sung by a little boy from the Philippines. Its quite touching that a young boy could sing it with such emotion. Hope you guys like it.

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." -Colossians 3:17
Came across this verse while I was doing devotion today. I think it's a good reminder for us to lead a godly life, in all that we do and say. You know, many times in life, we have to do things we don't really like to do, in school, at work etc. And sometimes, there is the temptation to just "anyhow do" to get it over and done with. But since we live for Jesus, whatever we do, we should do in the name of Christ. Therefore, we should put in our best in whatever we have to do, even if we don't enjoy it, because Jesus deserves our best and only our best. Through giving our best, we can also glorify God and thank Him for His grace.
By the way, there'll be a bible study course on Revelations starting tmr in church from about 9.45am to 12+ Tmr is the intro to Precept Bible Study and the book of Revelations, and lessons are every sat morning. My mother has been attending the previous Precept bible study course for Daniel, and she says it's quite good. You guys could consider attending the intro session tmr. I think the course on Revelations might help, since it is quite hard for us to understand certain parts when we read it on our own =)

The Beginning
Hi everyone.. here's the group's blog.
Haha i understand we're all very busy and cant write something up everyday but i'll try to post stuff here so this blog doesnt die.. will need you guys to help k... visit the blog when you can and use it as an avenue to share verses, discussions, and interact with one another since we only get to see each other for 1hr per week which isnt a lot. No obligation to write each day (whew) but just remember to keep visiting even if you guys arent free to post stuff k. I think its a faster way of communicating than email.. and hopefully this blog will draw us closer to God and to each other.
As for the name of this blog, well i couldnt get adam-and-eve.blogspot.com so i chose this lamp-to-my-feet.blogspot.com because Psalm 119:105 says "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path" so i thought its quite apt for our Bible study group.
Cheers! Will put up a tagboard tomorrow if i have a chance to use my bro's computer again (mine's down), and yup once its up pls drop us msgs so that we know the blog isnt dead k?
Take care and God bless all of you.
PS: Can someone please volunteer to do something about the blog template? im not a very artistic person neither am i good at html stuff so i cant figure out how to use those free templates thats available on the Net.. can anyone please help with this? drop me an sms if u can ya. thanks!
