Class Dinner

Hello ppl..

Date for class dinner:
I just found out i have class on next Friday evening, so i dont think i can make it on that date. Shall we make it dinner time next Saturday, or the Friday after that?

Location:
I've found several places where we can eat buffet and not burn a hole in our pockets(hopefully). Please check out the hyperlinks for more information. They are:

DIY buffets:
1)Fortune Cuisine
Its quite near church, at Sunset Way. Theres both a double steamboat and a charcoal BBQ. Never tried it before but it sounds good. (and i hope they havent changed the prices since putting up the ad)

$19.80++ (adults) on weekdays and $22.80++ (adults) on weekends.

2) Yuki and Yaki, Marina Square.
This is Japanese hotplate and steamboat combined, theres a huge range of fresh food like different kinds of marinated lamb, beef, pork, chicken wings, seafood whatever you want. Been there twice, i think the food is quite nice. Down side is that we are all gonna stink after that, from all the hotplate and stuff. And the oil splashes sometimes
=(

There is a choice of making ur own ice cream afterwards cos the hot plate can be rapidly cooled into a "cold plate" to make ice cream. Ice cream charged separately, different flavours available, and its a buffet ice-cream thingy which means you can take as much as you want.

No-need-to-cook buffets =P

3) Kuishin Bo
Be prepared, this is really ex though the selection of food is not bad. Two branches, at Jurong Point and Suntec City. The Jurong Point one is always very crowded and the variety there is a lot less i think. If wanna go i think better go the Suntec one. Jurong Point one drove me crazy with the long queue the other time i was there.

4) Sakura

Got 2 branches in the West:
-Clementi Woods Park93A Clementi Road, Singapore 129781Tel: 6474 8197
-Jurong West Sports & Recreation Centre 20 Jurong West St 93 #02-06/07, Singapore 648965

$22+ Lunch, $26+ dinner. I've never tried it before, and i dont know where the Clementi Woods outlet is, but i heard from some people its not bad.

Chongqing steamboat buffet.

5) 重庆第一家老火锅.
Never tried this restaurant before, but its affordable from what i saw on the Net. Around $16 only for buffet.

6) 天下第一刷 at Beach Road, the one which i normally go to. Theres a huge and fresh selection of ingredients. The price is quite similar to the one above. They dont have a website it seems. Be warned, the Chongqing steamboat will leave a smell on your clothes too, if we have it indoors. I think theres choice of indoor or outdoor seating.

Ok now, please leave a comment on this blog entry on which date you guys want, and the place you all wanna eat ok? Johnny, please help us put in Philip's vote too since hes in camp. Thanks.

Date: Saturday 31st January 2009 or Friday evening 6th Feb 2009 or Saturday evening 7th Feb 2009. One of the above, or if you all cant make it on all three dates, then please suggest a date in your comment.

Location: Choose one of the six places above... if your 2nd choice ties with your first, then can vote 2nd choice too.

****I just thought of last choice, Shokudo at Raffles City basement. Its a Jap eating place based on Marche concept. You pay for what you buy from the different "stalls" inside, which is all recorded on an electronic card (meaning its individual payment based on how much you eat). The good thing is it may be cheaper than the above buffets, if you guys dont eat too much.

If dont want all six, please leave a suggestion on the place to go eat, and the hyperlink too if possible. But then we will have to vote again if that happens. =P

Thanks in advance! Please keep checking back on this website for more updates since we wont be having BS till the 2nd Sunday of Feb...sms everyone at the same time is expensive, haha ;)

Hi Yiyun,

Other than 31 Jan (Sat) I'm fine with the rest of the days. As for location I'm fine with any.
